Garmin VivoFit Jr.
Design – Garmin finally ventured into kids smartband/watch with their VivoFit Jr. the smartband, available in different colors, Digi Camo,VivoFit Jr, Black and Solid. The smartband is a simple lightweight fitness tracker for kids, it’s a waterproof smartband with an always on display, a small negative mode LCD, a 64 x 64 pixels screen just enough to see the information. It’s not bulky unlike other kids smartwatch in the market, the VivoFit Jr. do have a light weight body, a smartband design for kids. The VivoFit Jr. is also compatible with VivoFit 3 smartband.
Under the Hood – one of the most interesting features of the VivoFit Jr. is the one year battery life, instead of using a rechargeable Lithium ion or Polymer battery, Garmin choose the one CR1632 coin cell. Garmin’s aim with the VivoFit Jr is to make the kids move, be active by adding fun and educational fitness apps in the smartband, it also has an assigned chores by parents from the smartphone app, see their progress and get rewarded with virtual coins and can be redeem from their parents, (parents managed the rewards).
