Casio WSD-F20 Smartwatch Adds GPS Functionality

I guess the Casio Outdoor WSD-F10 works out ok in terms of sales for Casio, as the company unveiled in CES 2017 a second generation of a rugged smartwatch. The smartwatch model Casio WSD-F20 runs the latest O.S of Google the Android Wear 2.0 and at the same time Casio adds a GPS functionality that is missing in the F10 version.

When it comes to looks, it is still somewhat similar to the WSD-F10, but the body feels and look more rugged with its protective bezel, it still has the three buttons on the right side of the smartwatch with specific functions. It has a dual layer display, allowing user to save power by switching from monochrome time display to colored Android Wear interface. Unlike the F10 version that relies on smartphone GPS, the WSD-F20 version has a built in GPS. Additional features include improved fitness tracking with “location memory” that provide information to user with just a press of a button, “moment setter”, a pre-program notifications. Just like the F10, the F20 features different sets of activity tracking like trekking, cycling, fishing and other water related sports.

So far seems like Casio improved its smartwatch based on the feedback it received with the F10, anyways the WSD-F20 is under the Pro Trek line-up of Casio, and will be available on April 21, 2017 and comes in orange and black color.

  • 1.32-inch dual layer display
